Join us as we celebrate the festival with Terrain, our filmmakers and artists at a party featuring special guests Daisy Chain and a spoken word performance by Gyasi Ross.
Daisy Chain brings together a blend of musical styles from rock, blues, and funk to soul, hip hop, and reggae. The band has performed at events and venues across the Northwest, including Northwest Folklife, Hempfest, Salmon Homecoming, and Tulalip Heritage Festival, the Muckleshoot Amphitheater, the Showbox SODO, Dante’s, Neumos, Scarlet Tree, and The Mix. Daisy Chain released its debut album Pickin’ Flowers in 2015 and went on a West Coast tour in the early spring of 2015. The tour kicked off in Albuquerque, NM during the Gathering of Nations Powwow. DC then headed west to the Viper Room in LA and on to gigs in Oakland and northern California. The band is currently working on a second album. Check out Daisy Chain’s Facebook page.
Gyasi Ross is an author, storyteller and commentator. A member of the Blackfeet Nation, Ross is a popular speaker on issues related to social justice and Indian Country. He has appeared on prominent television and radio news shows, and writes for many national publications. Ross has a spoken word/hip hop CD “Isskootsik (Before Here was Here).” Visit his website.
